Poseling Privacy Policy
1. Summary
- There is no account, and your characters are not sent to our servers.
- The characters, names, speech bubble text and imported photos you make are saved on your device, and the app never sends them to us. They leave it only when you share them yourself, or when Android device backup is on and the system backs them up (section 6). If you send us a mail reporting someone else's work, we receive what that mail contains (section 3).
- The only ads are rewarded ads, shown when you tap "Watch an ad to unlock this part". No ad is requested before the age screen.
- Children under 13 use this app too. Children under 13 never get personalised ads.
2. Age screen
At your first export or your first rewarded unlock we ask for your date of birth. We also ask before that if you report someone else's work or choose to show text in imported work. Until we know your age, the app follows the rules for children under 13 and hides text in newly imported work. Your age is worked out on the device, and the app does not store your date of birth. It keeps only one of four age bands (under 13; 13 to 17 and under the age of consent in your country; 13 to 17 and at or over it; 18 or over) and your country. These are never sent to us, and a device backup may include them (section 6).
3. Information that leaves your device
Ads (Google Mobile Ads SDK, Google User Messaging Platform)
When you tap "Watch an ad to unlock this part", Google's ads SDK collects the following and shares it with Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. It is encrypted in transit.
- IP address (may be used to estimate your general location)
- App interactions (app launch, taps, video views)
- Diagnostics (app launch time, hang rate, energy use)
- Device or other IDs (app set ID). The app does not include the advertising ID permission, so the advertising ID is not collected.
Ad requests depend on the age band:
- Under 13: child-directed treatment, ad rating G, no personalised ads
- 13 to 17: teen treatment, ad rating PG, no personalised ads
- 18 or over: ad rating PG; where consent is required, personalised ads only with your consent
Where consent is required, the Google User Messaging Platform asks users at or over the age of consent in their country for it. Users under that age never see a consent form and never get personalised ads. When the Google User Messaging Platform says your choices must stay open to change, "Ad privacy choices" appears in Settings and you can choose again at any time. Opening it makes the app ask Google for your consent information, and Google receives device and network information such as your IP address.
Purchases (Google Play Billing)
Paid collections and the supporter pack are bought through Google Play Billing. Google Play handles the payment; we never receive your card details. There are no paid random items.
Opening a character after install (Google Play Install Referrer)
If you install the app from a shared link, the first launch opens the character code (parts, colours, pose) that Google Play hands over. The guide page removes the name and profile from the link's code before putting it in the Google Play install address. The app reads a code from this path on the device only and drops any name left in it.
Guide page (kaizenkr.com)
If someone without the app opens a shared QR code in a browser, an install guide page opens. The server hosting it receives the visitor's IP address and the requested path. The character code is after # in the address and is not sent to the server. No analytics tool is used.
Report mails
If you report someone else's character or scene with "Report", the app opens your mail app with the work's ID and its character code or its scene text (character names, speech bubble text, narration) in the message. The app does not send it. If you send it from your mail app, we receive that content and your email address. We use them only to review the report and reply, and delete them within 90 days after handling it. For a child under 13, the mail app opens only after a parent check. The IDs of works you block are saved with your settings and are not sent to us. Device backup may copy them as described in section 6.
4. Information we do not send
The app never sends characters, names, speech bubble text, imported photos or your date of birth to us or to the ads SDK. The only exception is a report mail that you send yourself (section 3). Usage statistics are only counted on your device while the app is open and are gone when it closes. They are never sent anywhere, and you can turn them off in Settings.
5. Sharing
A character you export as a picture, code, QR code or file goes only to the app you choose. At your first export we remind you not to write your name, school or where you live in a picture. When a child under 13 first exports a picture or file with a name, speech bubble text or an imported photo, a parent check comes first. A parent can turn sharing off in Settings.
6. Device backup
If Android device backup (your Google account backup) is on, the system backs up the app's data: characters and scenes (with names and speech bubble text), settings (with the age band, the country and the IDs of blocked works) and the records of parts unlocked with ads and of purchases. Imported pictures, the thumbnail cache and the ad web view's data are left out of cloud backup. On Android 12 or newer, a direct transfer from one device to another may also move imported pictures. Google runs this backup and we cannot see it. You can turn backup off in your device settings.
7. Keeping and deleting
There is no account and no server copy of what the app stores. Report mails you send us are deleted within 90 days after we handle them (section 3). Uninstalling the app removes the data stored inside the app from your device. Pictures saved to your photos, files you shared or saved through other apps, backup files and device backup copies stay after uninstalling, so delete them where they are. Ad data is handled under Google's policies. Write to us and we will check whether we hold any information about you.
8. Children
We handle information about children under 13 only through the ads' child-directed treatment and within this policy. Parents can contact us at neworld1999s@gmail.com.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will say so in the app and on this page and update the effective date.
