요약

Examined 는 하루에 철학 물음 하나와 그 물음이 나온 원전의 한 대목을 보여 주고, 그에 대한 답을 적어 두는 안드로이드 앱입니다. 아무것도 수집하지 않습니다. 계정도, 로그인도, 저희가 운영하는 서버도 없습니다.

더 나아가 이 앱은 안드로이드 인터넷 권한 자체를 갖고 있지 않습니다. 보낼 곳이 없는 것이 아니라 보낼 통로가 없습니다. 그래서 실수로 새어 나가는 경우도 성립하지 않습니다. 비행기 모드에서 모든 기능이 그대로 도는 것으로 확인할 수 있습니다.

휴대폰 안에 남는 것

• 답. 날짜, 그날의 물음, 본문, 나중에 덧붙인 줄.
• 실천 기록. 실천 도구를 돌리면서 각 칸에 직접 적어 넣은 내용.
• 분류해 둔 걱정. 통제의 이분법 화면에서 양쪽으로 나눈 항목.
• 쓰다 만 초안. 저장을 누르기 전의 글. 앱이 정리되어도 잃지 않게 적어 둡니다.
• 설정. 언어, 밝고 어두운 화면, 글자 크기, 알림 시각.
• 홈 화면 위젯이 읽어 가는 사본. 물음 문장 목록. 앱 안의 자료에서 다시 만들어 낼 수 있는 값이고 개인 정보가 아닙니다.
• 읽지 못한 원본의 격리 사본. 저장한 글을 다시 읽지 못했을 때 그 원본을 지우지 않고 옆에 둡니다. 이용자가 직접 꺼내 갈 수 있게 하려는 것입니다.

이것이 전부이고, 전부 이 기기 안 앱 전용 저장소에 있습니다. 서버로 나가는 저장소가 없습니다. 앱을 지우면 함께 사라집니다.

안드로이드의 자동 클라우드 백업도 이 앱에서는 꺼 두었습니다 (allowBackup="false"). 켜 두면 이용자가 모르는 사이에 쓴 글이 구글 드라이브로 올라가고, 그러면 이 문서의 첫 문단이 거짓이 되기 때문입니다.

권한

앱이 선언하는 안드로이드 권한은 둘뿐입니다.

• 알림 (POST_NOTIFICATIONS). 이용자가 직접 맞춘 하루 한 번 알림에만 씁니다. 알림 문구는 기기 안에서 만들어집니다. 거부해도 나머지 기능은 그대로 동작합니다.
• 부팅 시 실행 (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED). 재부팅 뒤에 그 알림을 다시 걸어 두는 데에만 씁니다.

인터넷, 네트워크 상태, 광고 식별자, 위치, 카메라, 마이크, 연락처, 저장소 권한이 모두 없습니다.

내보내기

쓴 것은 언제든 사람이 읽을 수 있는 글자 그대로 복사하거나 파일로 내보낼 수 있습니다. 그 이동은 이용자가 시킬 때만 일어나고, 이용자가 고른 곳으로만 갑니다. 그 뒤에 그 글이 어떻게 되는지는 이용자가 고른 앱이나 저장소의 방침을 따릅니다.

다른 휴대폰으로 옮기는 기능도 같은 방식입니다. 저희 서버를 거치지 않고, 이용자가 손으로 옮긴 글자를 앱이 다시 읽습니다.

수집하지 않는 것

광고가 없습니다. 분석 도구도, 크래시 리포터도, 유입 추적망도 없습니다. 외부 라이브러리는 값을 기기에 적어 두는 shared_preferences 하나뿐이고, 그것도 네트워크를 쓰지 않습니다. 이름도 이메일도 전화번호도 받지 않고, 사용 기록을 저희 쪽으로 보내지 않습니다.

이용자의 선택

• 알림을 거절해도 앱의 모든 기능이 그대로입니다.
• 기록 화면에서 답 하나를, 설정에서 전부를 지울 수 있습니다.
• 지우기 전에 전부 글자로 내보내 둘 수 있습니다.
• 앱을 삭제하면 앱이 가진 모든 것이 사라집니다. 서버가 없으므로 서버에 남는 것도 없습니다.

아동

Examined 는 만 13세 미만을 대상으로 하지 않으며, 아동을 포함한 누구의 개인정보도 수집하지 않습니다.

방침의 변경

기기 밖으로 나가는 자료가 생기는 판을 낸다면, 그 판을 내기 전에 맨 위의 날짜와 이 문서를 먼저 고치고 바뀐 내용을 릴리스 노트에 적겠습니다. 계정이 없어 알릴 주소도 없으므로 별도의 통지는 없습니다.

Examined is an Android application that gives you one philosophical question a day together with the passage it came from, and keeps the answer you write. It has no accounts, no sign-in, and no server operated by us.

• It cannot send anything. The app does not hold the Android internet permission at all, so there is no route out, not merely no destination. You can confirm this by using every feature in airplane mode.
• What stays on your device. Your answers and the lines you later add to them, your practice rounds, the worries you sorted, unsaved drafts, your settings, a copy of the question list that the home-screen widget reads, and a quarantined copy of any file the app failed to read. All of it lives in the app's private storage and is deleted when you uninstall. Android's automatic cloud backup is disabled for this app (allowBackup="false") so that nothing is copied to Google Drive behind your back.
• Permissions. Two, and no more. Notifications, used only for the daily reminder you schedule yourself and which is composed on the device; and run-at-startup, used only to re-arm that reminder after a reboot. Deny the first and everything else works unchanged. There is no internet, network-state, advertising-identifier, location, camera, microphone, contacts or storage permission.
• Export. Everything you have written can be copied or exported as plain readable text at any time. That transfer happens only when you ask for it and goes only where you send it. Moving your writing to another phone works the same way, through text you carry yourself, never through a server of ours.
• Nothing else is collected. No advertising, no analytics, no crash reporter, no attribution network. The only third-party library is shared_preferences, which writes values to the device and uses no network. We never ask for a name, an email address or a telephone number.
• Children. Examined is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, children included.
